USPTA Incentive for "Little Mo" at Club Med
April 20, 2012
Club Med Sandpiper Bay is joining the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation to host the "Little Mo" Florida sectionals tournament from June 8-10, 2012. This singles only tournament is designed for high performance players (ages 7-11) to compete against others born in the same birth year: 8’s play 8’s, 9’s play 9’s, etc. All matches will be played on full court with traditional yellow balls.
As host for our 2012 USPTA Florida Division Convention, Club Med and Tennis Academy Director, Laurent Leclerc, are happy to gain your support in encouraging any of your up-and-coming tennis players to participate in this fun-filled event. As an incentive, should any of you happen to get twenty families or more to stay at Sandpiper Bay, Club Med is happy to offer a complimentary stay for the equivalent number of nights to you either at the time of the tournament or at another time within the year (based on availability). Special Club Med rates are available during the tournament. Entry fee for the Little Mo is $50. Entry deadline is Monday, May 28 at 5 p.m.
In addition,Club Med Sandpiper Bay will be the host site of the 2nd annual "Mini Mo" Internationals from December 14-17, 2012. The "Mini Mo" tournament is designed for players ages 5-10 using the low compression balls on shortened courts. The tournament is open to any player who is playing with the red/orange/green dot ball.
Information on “Little Mo” and “MiniMo” tournaments is available at 800.232.3413 or littlemotennis@gmail.com. If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Tournament Director, Laurent Leclerc at 800.232.3413.
These two fantastic tournaments are named after Maureen “Little Mo” Connolly, who was the first woman to win the Grand Slam when she was only eighteen years old, in 1953. She is still the youngest and only American woman to have accomplished this magnificent feat. Participants are encouraged to enjoy the unique, one of a kind tournament, that features not only great tennis, but also the spirit and energy of Club Med.
